Press Release:
The latest in community amenities – a bike share program
Cadence is first community to offer residents a bike sharing program
March 11, 2014
HENDERSON, NEV. – – Cadence, a 2,200-acre community in Henderson, will offer residents the opportunity to help the environment and enjoy the outdoors with its new bike share program.
Cadence is working with Social Bicycles to initially provide 20 community bicycles that can be shared to cycle around central park, go to retail areas or check out new neighborhoods in Cadence. As the community grows and interest in the program increases, more bicycles will be added. Users register for the program through the Cadence marketing center and then are able to use a bike by setting up an account with Social Bicycles.
Cyclists can also use the bikes on the many Henderson trails that interconnect with Cadence such as the Las Vegas Wash Trail and the River Mountains Loop Trail. Likewise, downtown Henderson is also a short bike ride away.
Each bicycle is equipped with a GPS tracking system, which lets the company accurately inform users of where available bikes are located. Cadence will have bike racks throughout the community.
“The idea behind Cadence is to create a community where residents can easily walk or bicycle around the neighborhood,” said Mark Paris, CEO and president of The LandWell Company, the developer of Cadence. “The bike share program is being established so residents have easy and convenient access to bicycles as an alternate form of transportation throughout Cadence and the surrounding Henderson area.”
Cadence is located off Lake Mead Parkway and Boulder Highway in Henderson. The community will include 13,250 residential units, 450 acres of open space, which includes a 50-acre central park, 100-acre sports park and 30 acres of trails. The community offers free Wi-Fi in the public parks and four school sites.
The Cadence community offers a variety of residential neighborhoods with a broad cross-section of homes starting from the $200,000s. More information can be found at www.cadencenv.com, on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/CadenceNV) or Twitter (@CadenceNV).
